KEY ROLE: 

The Position is to representing the company for project implementation (after contract award) and is responsible for the management of all aspects of project(s) entrusted to him within the company’s rules & regulations, ethics and principles. While ensuring safety as a priority, responsible for the execution of projects in respect of the contracts, providing services of the specified quality within agreed schedules and budgetary limits set at tender stage.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Contact with client with whom the PCM have to act diligently while always defending the company’s best interest.
  • Overall administration, supervision,co-ordination, management and direction of the project(s) entrusted to liaise and coordinate closely with company’s departments and management personnel as may be required for proper execution of his project
  • Setting up and manage a project team and organization answering the requirements of the contract in order to ensure a proper and efficient management of the project.
  • Planning and organizing supervision personnel deployment on project and ensure smooth coordination with client solutions, supply chain, manufacturing and finance department.
  • May occasionally appoint and supervise subcontractors services
  • Liaise with Supply Chain for preparing purchase/service orders for authorization when required by upper management
  • Manage transport/site expenditures if and when required within limits to be advised on a project by project basis.
  • In coordination with clients solution department, manage variation orders and works
  • Liaise with Finance Department to ensure cost control of the project(s).
Key Notes:

1. Safety

  • Ensure safety as the priority on all project related activities and take all practical steps to safeguard employees and other individuals from injury.

2. Cost Control / Financial:

  • Permanently monitoring the costs of project(s) and deviations from agreed budgets. Highlighting deviations to management on the cost control and progress of the project(s) for information,recommending solutions if and when necessary. Issue reports for management on cost expenditures and financial results of the project.
  • Prepare, update on a weekly basis &submit to Division and Financial Managers financial reports as may be required(Cash-flow, Revenue & Expense Provisions, etc…) related to PCM’s entrusted project(s).

3. Commercial / Customer relation:

  • Permanently monitoring the relations with the customer and its representatives with an aim to create and keep in a good atmosphere a working relation based on confidence and fairness while obviously defending the interests of the company
  • Attend meetings in relation with the projects when required, organize and supervise timely and professionally presented reporting activities.
  • Monitor and document variations to the initially agreed scope of work and/or services. Evaluate associated cost impacts and in coordination with client solution team, submit to the customer associated offers/quotations..
  • Monitor timely approval by the customer of all contract related documentation and variations before proper enforcement of the same.
  • Prepare and get approvals for all technical and commercial documentations such as SLDs, Productions drawings,progress claims, Certificate of Payments, Delivery orders, Commissioning reports, etc … Advise Accounting department for preparation of banking documentation, invoices/guarantees if/as required by the contract.
  • In coordination with client solution Department, monitor reception of payments.
  • Follow up during guarantee period.

4. Personnel

  • Direct, coordinate and control activities of all project’s personnel. Delegate to subordinates while ensuring follow up and quality of personnel output.
  • Ensure a good and productive working atmosphere within project team
  • Liaise with other company Departments fortechnical assistance and training requirement for project personnel, if any.
  • Take part in yearly evaluation meetings of project’s personnel; propose salary adjustments, based on yearly evaluation and in relation with HR department.

5. Coordination / schedule control:

  • Establish master schedule (Gantt Charting), detail schedules while monitoring and following up production plans from company factory and suppliersfor project in accordance with the requirements of the contract.
  • Permanently monitor the following and updating of such schedules and company’s success in reaching required delivery/completion dates.
  • Anticipate on potential threats to a timely execution of the works and propose mitigation and adaptation plans in an aim to ensure timely execution.
  • Coordinate preparation and follow up of purchasing and procurement plans, in relation with Supply Chain Department.
  • Coordinate all concerned company’s Departments, suppliers and subcontractors for the timely execution of their work in accordance with contractual requirements, with a permanent concern on Quality and Schedule.
  • Manage and organize insurances on Projects when required
  • Supervise all subordinates involved in project(s) and ensure that all duties are carried out as and when required.Organize meetings as required.
  • Monitor and continually look for propose improvements on the effectiveness of activities relating to the project(s) and the company’s operation in general.
  • Attend project and site coordination meetings, instruct project team accordingly.
  • Manage submittal of equipment &design drawings for approval by the client.
  • Manage timely production of quality drawings in order not to delay progress of the works and avoid design problems.

6. Costing/ Negotiation

  • Manage from time to time the tendering process of a particular project which is expected to be entrusted in case of success.
  • Attend negotiation and clarification meetings.

7. Quality assurance and control, Testing / Commissioning:

  • Implement and maintain all project activities in accordance with Company’s quality system and documented procedures.
  • Coordinate and ultimately supervise the performance of QA/QC activities related with his project.
  • Coordinate and supervise testing &commissioning activities, follow approval of relevant certificates by authorities and by the client, if and when required.

8. Reporting / Documentation:

  • Reporting on a regular basis (as may be required) to Division manager on the situation of project(s) under responsibility with regards to Safety performance, progress, problems, results,general performance, action plans, etc …
  • Preparation of final acceptance of works and follow approval by the client.
  • Coordinate the preparation of final project and QC documentation, As-Built Drawings and Operation & Maintenance Manual.
  • Monitor the daily Incoming/Outgoing documents related to his/her project(s) and ensure proper distribution of documents to relevant recipient(s)

9. Ethics

  • Ensure best Ethics practices are enforced within all project activities

10. Others

  • Produce a project analysis on completion of the project to be used as a reference for improvement of future estimations and cross-checking.
  • Perform other tasks as may be required by the management or/and for the good progress of the project.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Management Skills and experience.
  • Preferably experience in contract management.
  • Reliable and devoted to the interest of the company.
  • Educational background in electrical and/or mechanical engineering at master degree level.
  • Computer literacy and especially MS Offices, MS Project, AutoCAD.
  • Excellent writing skills and good conversational ability in English Communication.
  • General & Office ( As per project requirement )
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in equivalent position in construction or engineering field.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to develop team work in an efficient working atmosphere.
  • Ability to anticipate and plan, to manage resources and evaluate priorities.
  • Problem solver with a realistic can do attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure.
