JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 
  • Directs and coordinates activities involved with production, sale, and distribution of bakery products
  • Ensures the freshness and quality of all baked goods; ensures monitoring of sell-by date on related products and proper FIFO rotation of stock
  • Determines variety and quantity of bakery products to be produced, according to orders and sales projections
  • Develops budget for bakery operation, utilizing experience and knowledge of current market conditions
  • Directs sales activities, following standard business practices
  • Prepares product distribution to customers and pays attention to customers’ needs ensuring high levels of customer service – create customer satisfaction by building relationships, paying attention to all inquiries, complaints, and recommendations from customers; when possible, make eye contact and greet customers, or when a customer asks for the location of an item, ensure the customer is accompanied to the specific location
  • Introduces and promotes Own Brand product to the customers; has knowledge to clearly present the
  • specifications of products to customers and introduce new product by arranging demos and product trial events
  • Surveys competitors’ pricing and presents product according to the 6 Rights + 1 merchandising philosophy
  • Maintains high standard of health and safety in the store; responsible for ensuring safety of all employees and customers – ensure safety equipment and protective wear is utilized at all times and department is safe from potential accidents;ensure a spill is never left unattended
  • Negotiates with suppliers to arrange purchase and delivery of bakery supplies
  • Implements,through subordinate managerial personnel, policies to utilize human resources,machines, and materials productively
  • Hires and discharges employees
  • May also train subordinates in all phases of bakery activities
  • Ensures strict compliance with company dress code
  • Prepare monthly manpower schedule for staff
  • May also manage bakery that produces only specialty products, for example bagels or pastries
  • May also manage bakery that sells products to general public, and may also prepare bakery products.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education and/or Job Experience Requirements

  • University graduate, or has equivalent Executive Development training from reputable institution
  • Bakery skill / experience 5 years
